Job Description

Mechanical Assembler - Medical Diagnostics Build Precision Devices That Improve Patient Care Are you hands‑on, detail‑driven, and excited about working at the intersection of engineering, science, and healthcare? Join our close‑knit team as a Mechanical Assembler and play a direct role in building and testing innovative medical diagnostic devices that make a real difference in patients' lives. This role blends precision mechanical assembly , basic lab work , and verification testing in a regulated, quality‑focused environment. What You'll Do Assemble precision biosensor disposable components for medical diagnostic devices Perform layer‑by‑layer assembly of diagnostic cartridges and cassettes using tweezers and small hand tools Execute test plans, collect data (including whole blood samples ), and clearly summarize results Support verification testing across mechanical, chemical, and electronic components Perform basic data analysis using common statistical methods Diagnose product and process issues using a methodical, structured approach Build and assemble simple test fixtures and setups for verification work Maintain lab equipment, calibration schedules, and overall lab organization Enter, update, and manage data in database systems Follow SOPs, work instructions, GLP, GMP, and other regulated testing practices Coordinate with phlebotomy partners and communicate with study subjects in compliance with IRB guidelines Provide clear documentation, reporting, and status updates to the broader team What You Bring Essential Skills & Experience Strong manual dexterity with small, precision components Experience assembling diagnostic cartridges, cassettes, or similar devices Proficiency with tweezers, calipers, and small hand tools Ability to read mechanical drawings and schematics Excellent organization and documentation skills Familiarity with GMP or regulated environments Comfort collecting and analyzing basic test data Experience using database systems for data entry and tracking Clear written and verbal communication skills Nice‑to‑Have Qualifications Experience with reagent‑based biosensor disposables Exposure to GLP and safe laboratory operations Comfort working with whole blood samples Experience designing or assembling simple test fixtures Familiarity with IRB‑compliant subject communication Interest in long‑term growth within medical devices or diagnostics Enjoys working in a small, collaborative team environment Why You'll Love Working Here Meaningful work on medical diagnostic devices that directly support patient care Hands‑on exposure to precision manufacturing, verification testing, and regulated environments A supportive, tight‑knit team where your contributions are visible and valued Consistent weekday schedule with no shift work Strong long‑term growth potential in the medical device and diagnostics industry
Work Environment Schedule:

Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Menlo Park, CA. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $35.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
