Plans assembly procedures following job specifications Filing and grinding of metal to clean parts or to produce close fit between parts. Drills, taps, or reams holes. Aligns components and bolts them together. Installs moving parts, such as shafts or bearings, and works them to test free movement. Aligns and meshes gears to assemble system of gears. Installs mesh cloth, perforated plate, or urethane panels. Tests or assists in testing operation of completed product. Uses hoists and cranes to move or assemble subcomponents Operates magnetic drills, grinders, reamers, and impacts, as necessary. Responsible for care and use of tools and returns to crib when done.
