Job Title:
Mechanical Assembler Job Description We are seeking a skilled Mechanical Assembler to join our team, specializing in the assembly of large diesel and natural gas engines. This role requires expertise in utilizing various hand and power tools, specialized torque equipment, pneumatic tooling, electrical testing equipment, and lifting devices. The successful candidate will manipulate engine components during the assembly process and learn the technical aspects of engine assembly, including troubleshooting and repair of in-process engines. Responsibilities Assemble large diesel and natural gas engines using hand and power tools. Utilize torque wrenches, pneumatic air power tools, DC tooling, and other specialized equipment. Interpret and follow blueprints and specifications from customers. Document processes and progress using CPU skills. Troubleshoot and repair in-process engines. Essential Skills Proven experience in an industrial environment with hands-on mechanical work. Experience using mechanical tooling such as torque equipment, DC tools, and hand tools. Mid-level mechanical aptitude. Ability to follow written work instructions, SOPs, and blueprints. Strong CPU skills to follow engineering drawings and work instructions. Additional Skills & Qualifications Experience in automotive, diesel technician, lube technician, tire shop, farming, construction, maintenance, and facilities industries. Steel-toed or composite shoes required to start. Must score in the 21st percentile or above on the assessment. Why Work Here? PPE is mandatory, including steel or composite toe shoes, earplugs, and protective glasses, which are provided. The campus is tobacco-free, with designated areas for use during breaks. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Lafayette, IN. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $21.34 - $22.09/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment. Benefits are subject to change and may be subject to specific elections, plan, or program terms.
