Machine Operator /
Assembler Reports To:
Production Supervisor SUMMARY Responsible for the operation of equipment and machinery in the secondary area to produce quality products. Responsibilities include assembly and secondary operations such as setting up, operating, and breaking down multiple tools, machinery, and equipment as needed.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES 1.
Responsible for following daily schedules and meeting production goals and reporting any issues throughout the day. 2. Responsible for quality control. Ability to produce quality parts within company/customer specifications, adjust as necessary, reject product outside of specifications. 3. Accurately log and complete daily production paperwork, data collection information, quality sheets, counts, and material tags. 4. Must follow all company policies, procedures, and safety standards. 5. Maintain a clean and safe work area. 6. Interpret blueprints and assemble products for customers as scheduled. 7. Ability to set up, operate, and produce countersink, drill, tap, pem, and finishing operations. 8. Provide assistance sorting parts and shaking out nests in the cutting department with little or no supervision. 9. Participate in continuous improvement projects in the secondary department. 10. Must have dependable, reliable, on time attendance. 11. Be actively engaged in the training of the above responsibilities as needed.
ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES
Identify/Improve areas in reducing scrap/waste, improving costs and lead times. Assist in other areas of production as necessary. Other duties as assigned.
KNOWLEDGE AND SKILL REQUIREMENTS
Basic reading, writing, and arithmetic skills required. Knowledge of the manufacturing processes, procedures, and machinery. Understand/interpret blueprint reading normally acquired through 1 to 3 years of manufacturing experience. Basic computer skills. Manual dexterity required for operating machinery and computers. Ability to lift up to 50 pounds required
WORKING CONDITIONS
Working conditions are normal for a manufacturing environment. Work involves lifting of materials and product up to 50 pounds. Machinery operation requires the use of safety equipment to include but not limited to; eye safety glasses, gloves, hearing protection, work boots, and hardhats. Loose fitting clothes and jewelry are not permitted.
