R-Way Trailer Assembler Position Summary:
We are seeking a motivated and mechanically inclined Trailer Assembler to join our manufacturing team. This position is responsible for assembling, installing, troubleshooting, and testing trailer components and systems on a variety of trailer builds. The ideal candidate will have strong mechanical aptitude and hands-on experience with hydraulic systems, electrical wiring, plumbing, PTO systems, and general trailer assembly. This role requires attention to detail, the ability to work independently and as part of a team, and a commitment to producing high-quality work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Assemble trailer components and subassemblies according to blueprints, work orders, and production specifications Install and troubleshoot: Hydraulic systems PTO systems Electrical wiring and lighting systems Air and brake systems Plumbing components and hoses Suspension and axle components Mount and connect pumps, valves, cylinders, hoses, and fittings Perform wiring of trailer lighting, controls, and auxiliary systems Read and interpret mechanical drawings, wiring diagrams, and assembly instructions Inspect completed assemblies to ensure proper fit, function, and quality standards Operate hand tools, power tools, forklifts, and shop equipment safely and efficiently Assist with troubleshooting mechanical or assembly issues during production Collaborate with welders, painters, fabricators, and other production personnel to meet production schedules
Job Requirements:
High school diploma or GED preferred 2+ years of mechanical, manufacturing, heavy equipment, or trailer assembly experience preferred Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills Ability to read tape measures, blueprints, and technical diagrams Experience using hand tools, power tools, and measuring equipment Strong attention to detail and quality workmanship Dependable attendance and positive attitude
Job Qualifications:
Ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, and lift throughout the workday Frequently lift and move up to 50 pounds Ability to be exposed to noise, dust, and varying temperatures Ability to safely climb ladders and work underneath trailers when needed
