Job Title:
Tester Mechanical Assembler Job Description The Tester Mechanical Assembler performs mechanical testing and assembly of 3D‑printed parts to verify strength, durability, and overall quality. This role combines hands-on mechanical assembly, operation of testing equipment, and detailed inspection and documentation to support engineering, quality, and production teams in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. Responsibilities Perform mechanical tests on 3D‑printed parts, including tensile, compression, flex, and impact tests, to verify strength and durability. Inspect parts for defects, dimensional accuracy, and surface quality using gauges, calipers, and other metrology tools. Operate testing equipment such as load frames, fixtures, environmental chambers, and custom jigs in accordance with established procedures. Document test results accurately and communicate findings to engineering, quality, and production teams in a timely manner. Support root‑cause analysis when parts fail tests or do not meet specifications, contributing to corrective and preventive actions. Follow standardized procedures to ensure consistency and compliance with established manufacturing and quality standards. Identify and report any issues with product quality or testing equipment promptly. Utilize hand and power tools to assemble products and components according to work instructions. Maintain work areas, equipment, and tools in a clean and organized condition, including during downtime or extended production runs. Function effectively in both a self-directed capacity and as part of a collaborative team. Lift up to 20 lbs on a regular basis and up to 50 lbs on a periodic basis as part of daily duties. Essential Skills Minimum 2+ years of mechanical assembly experience in a production or manufacturing environment. At least 1+ year of experience using hand and power tools for assembly or related tasks. At least 1+ year of computer experience for documentation, data entry, and communication. Strong mechanical aptitude with the ability to understand how parts fit and function together. Experience with mechanical assembly processes and basic production workflows. Ability to operate or learn to operate testing equipment such as load frames, fixtures, and environmental chambers. Proficiency in inspecting parts using gauges, calipers, and other basic metrology tools. Ability to follow standardized procedures and work instructions with close attention to detail. Capability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining accuracy and quality. Physical ability to regularly lift up to 20 lbs and periodically lift up to 50 lbs. Additional Skills & Qualifications Experience performing or supporting mechanical testing such as tensile, compression, flex, or impact tests. Familiarity with 3D‑printed parts or additive manufacturing processes. Experience in production or machine operating within a controlled manufacturing environment. Comfort using computers for recording test results and communicating with cross-functional teams. Strong communication skills to share test findings with engineering, quality, and production personnel. Ability to work both independently with minimal supervision and collaboratively within a team. Good organizational skills to maintain clean, efficient work areas and manage multiple tasks. Why Work Here? You will work around production equipment, testing machines, and assembly tools, using hand and power tools as part of daily tasks. Safety is a priority, and you must wear steel-toed boots and eye protection on the production floor at all times. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Eden Prairie, MN. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $23.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
