Job Description

Position Summary:
We are seeking a full-time, experienced Mechanical Assembler. Required skills include an ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, process documents and bill of materials reports and use that information to position and assemble high pressure waterjet pumps and their components. Operators must be highly competent in the use of assembly tools and have experience using presses, drilling and tapping holes and aligning components. Work is performed with limited supervision. Benefits for full-time positions include health, dental, life, disability and vision insurance and a 401k retirement plan. Work weeks are Monday through Friday during the day. Pay $22 - 27, based on experience and qualifications. Key Responsibilities Observe all company policies regarding safety equipment and procedures. Perform all operations with the highest regard for personal safety and the safety of others. Position and assemble parts according to engineering drawings, blueprints, process documents and photos. Perform at a quality and efficiency level of performance acceptable to the supervisor. Perform secondary operations as required (e.g., drill presses, presses, riveting machines, grinding, etc.) Test assemblies to ensure proper operation. Maintain red line drawing mark-ups of changes required during fabrication. Communicate red line changes to Engineer or Team Leader for revision prior to completion. Responsible for housekeeping in the general area. Follows established department procedures and company policies. Make continuous improvement suggestions. Support other work areas as required. Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications/Requirements:
High School diploma or equivalent required. 2-4 years of experience in a manufacturing environment High mechanical aptitude, including the competent use of assembly tools. Hydraulic and fluid power assembly experience preferred. Lean manufacturing experience preferred. Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, written instructions, manuals, safety rules, etc. Sound decision-making with accurate data entry. Proficient in the use of forklifts, cranes, slings, chains, hooks, and other appropriate devices for safe and efficient material handling. Positive, service attitude with ability to work independently and as part of a team. Speak, read, and write fluent English. Work Environment and Physical Demands Full-time position and must have the ability to work flexible hours and overtime when needed. While performing duty, employees are required to stand, crouch, and walk. The employee may occasionally be required to perform work in elevated work area. The noise level in the work environment is such that hearing protection may be advised in some areas and required in others. Hearing protection is provided. Pump run-in areas utilize water and may become slippery. Testing may be performed with high voltage electrical requiring the use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and specialized tools. PPE and tooling are provided. Some specific work areas may be exposed to fumes or airborne particles requiring the use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE). PPE is provided. Steel toed boots are required. Occasional lifting is required up to 75 pounds (with assistance if necessary).
