Job Description

Job Title:
Mechanical Assembler - 1st Shift / Wentzville, MO Job Description This role involves assembling and installing components such as ladder racks, foot runners, partitions, shelving units, and cabinets into vans in a production environment. You will use hand and power tools, follow diagrams similar to furniture assembly instructions, and support high-volume order fulfillment on a day shift schedule. Responsibilities Assemble and install ladder racks, foot runners, partitions, and other components into vans according to specifications. Pre-assemble and install shelving units and related hardware in vehicles. Start by building and assembling cabinets and progress to more complex vehicle upfitting tasks. Use hand and power tools safely and effectively to complete mechanical assembly work. Read and interpret diagrams and basic blueprints similar to those used for furniture assembly. Measure, mark, and align parts accurately using tape measures and other basic measuring tools. Follow production instructions and work orders to meet quality standards and deadlines. Perform general labor tasks associated with mechanical assembly and vehicle outfitting. Maintain a clean and organized work area and handle tools and equipment with care. Adhere to all safety procedures, including the proper use of personal protective equipment. Work a regular Monday through Friday day shift and be available to work some Saturdays during periods of high order volume. Stand for extended periods and perform physical activities such as lifting, bending, twisting, and squatting throughout the shift. Essential Skills Hands-on experience with mechanical assembly or similar work using hand and power tools. Ability to read and follow diagrams and basic blueprints, similar to furniture assembly instructions. Proficient use of common hand and power tools, including screwdrivers, wrenches, hammers, and drills. Ability to accurately use a tape measure and perform basic measurements. Strong interest in vehicles and mechanic-type work. Capability to stand on your feet for an entire shift and perform frequent lifting, bending, twisting, and squatting. Comfort working in a production environment with repetitive assembly tasks. Attention to detail and ability to follow written and verbal instructions reliably. Additional Skills & Qualifications Experience in automotive, mechanical, or hands-on trade work. Experience in general labor, production, or assembly environments. Familiarity with mechanical assembly processes and basic mechanical concepts. Ability to work occasional Saturdays when required to support high volume orders. Personal tool set including basic hand tools such as screwdrivers, wrenches, and hammers. Why Work Here? Work Environment This is a full-time, on-site role with hours from 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., Monday through Friday, with the possibility of occasional Saturday work during periods of high order volume. The facility is non-climate controlled, so temperatures will vary with the seasons. The dress code requires steel-toe footwear, jeans or work pants, and a work shirt. Eye and ear protection, as well as gloves, are provided on site. You must bring and use your own basic hand tools, such as screwdrivers, wrenches, and hammers. The work is physically active and performed on your feet for most of the shift, in a production setting where safe and efficient use of hand and power tools is essential. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Wentzville, MO. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $19.00 - $19.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
