Job Description

Aerotek is hiring for Mechanical Assemblers 2nd shift  Job Description This role focuses on cutting, fitting, and installing insulation on shells, heads, and piping while following detailed travelers, prints, and bills of materials. You will verify material availability, confirm vacuum integrity, and document critical vacuum readings to support accurate leak detection and traceability. The position requires consistent adherence to safety and environmental protocols in a clean, climate-controlled production environment. Responsibilities Review travelers, engineering prints, and insulation bills of materials to understand job requirements and verify material availability and condition before starting work. Cut, fit, and install insulation on shells, heads, and piping in accordance with specifications and technical documentation. Apply adhesives, bands, and jacketing as specified to ensure secure and durable insulation installations. Complete check sheets for vacuum readings before and after insulation to support leak detection traceability and quality documentation. Use hand tools and power tools safely and effectively to perform insulation installation and related tasks. Follow all environmental, health, and safety (EHS) protocols, including proper use of personal protective equipment and participation in respirator fit tests. Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area in line with facility standards. Collaborate with team members and supervisors to meet production schedules and quality standards. Essential Skills 2-3 years of experience in fabrication and fitting insulation, preferably in high mix product environments. Proficiency using hand tools and power tools for cutting, fitting, and installing insulation. Ability to read and interpret travelers, prints, and insulation bills of materials. Experience installing insulation on shells, heads, and piping using adhesives, bands, and jacketing. Capability to stand and walk for most of the workday (8-10 hours). Ability to regularly lift materials up to 35 lbs and occasionally up to 50 lbs. Strict adherence to environmental, health, and safety (EHS) protocols, including respirator fit tests. Consistent use of personal protective equipment such as gloves, sleeves, and cutting tools (e.g., scissors, knives). Strong attention to detail for completing check sheets and recording vacuum readings accurately. Additional Skills & Qualifications Experience working in a clean, climate-controlled manufacturing or production environment. Comfort working in a high mix product environment with varying insulation configurations. Basic understanding of leak test protocols and vacuum integrity checks. General labor and installation experience in an industrial or fabrication setting. Ability to follow structured work instructions and quality procedures. Why Work Here? The facility maintains strict environmental, health, and safety standards, including adherence to respirator fit tests and the use of personal protective equipment such as gloves, sleeves, and appropriate cutting tools.

A Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Charlotte, NC. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $22.00 - $22.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
