Job Description

Job Title:
Fabricator Job Description As a Fabricator, you will perform all duties and responsibilities with a focus on safety, operating various sheet metal machines such as brakes, lasers, deburring machines, shears, notches, and turret punching machines. You will receive work orders and prints, utilizing shop calculations and math when necessary, working from complex drawings, prints, templates, and specifications. Your role involves using a variety of machines, hand tools, and measuring instruments to cut and form pieces to the required dimensions. The job requires performing highly diversified work involving close tolerances, with a basic understanding of blank sizes and bend allowances, using precision measuring instruments to check for accuracy. You will monitor machines at all times for proper operation and work closely with other team members and departments in the company. Keeping your work area clean and orderly is essential. Responsibilities Operate sheet metal machines including brakes, lasers, deburring machines, shears, notches, and turret punching machines. Receive and interpret work orders and prints, applying necessary shop calculations and math. Cut and form pieces to required dimensions using machines, hand tools, and measuring instruments. Perform diversified work with close tolerances, understanding blank sizes and bend allowances. Use precision measuring instruments to ensure accuracy. Monitor machines for proper operation. Collaborate with team members and other departments. Maintain cleanliness and orderliness in the work area. Perform other duties as assigned. Essential Skills Experience with press brake, machine operation, punch press, and sheet metal. Ability to lift up to 50 pounds repeatedly during the shift. High degree of attention, mental alertness, and care to prevent injury. Knowledge of shop mathematics. Additional Skills & Qualifications Experience with fabricating sheet metal parts using brakes, lasers, deburring machines, shears, notches, and turret punching machines. Capability to perform machine set-up and operation. Why Work Here? Work Environment The work environment is a climate-controlled job shop with a small team of only 15 people. The facility is extremely clean, equipped with new equipment, and offers a first shift schedule from Monday to Thursday, 6 AM to 3:30 PM. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Wilson, NC. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $20.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
