Job Title:
Mechanical Assembler Job Description The Mechanical Assembler builds and assembles mechanical components and complete systems used in demanding construction and mining applications. This role involves assembling mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems for mobile water tanks, trailers, dump bodies, stationary structures, and other equipment by following blueprints and using a variety of hand and power tools in a production environment. Responsibilities Assemble mechanical components, electrical systems, hydraulic systems, and pneumatic systems according to blueprints and work instructions. Build and fit mobile water tanks, fuel tanks, coal haulers, bottom-dump trailers, equipment transports, and stationary structures for construction and mining use. Use hand tools, power tools, and measuring tools such as tape measures to complete assembly tasks accurately and safely. Read and interpret blueprints, safety rules, operating instructions, maintenance instructions, and procedural documents to guide assembly work. Follow repetitive production processes while maintaining quality and consistency across all assembled products. Follow verbal and written instructions from supervisors and leads to complete daily production requirements. Perform general labor tasks related to assembly, including material handling, positioning parts, and preparing work areas. Inspect assembled components for proper fit, alignment, and function, and make adjustments as needed. Work efficiently to meet production goals and support increased workload as demand and overtime opportunities arise. Adhere to all safety rules and procedures while working with tools, equipment, and large assemblies in outdoor and shop environments. Essential Skills At least 2 years of experience working in a production environment. Hands-on experience with mechanical assembly using hand and power tools. Ability to read and interpret blueprints for mechanical and structural assemblies. Basic knowledge of mechanical systems and components. Ability to work with hydraulic, electrical, and pneumatic components during assembly. Ability to read and understand safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedural documents. Capability to follow repetitive work processes while maintaining attention to detail and quality. Ability to follow verbal instructions clearly and accurately. Physical ability to stand, bend, and climb for long periods of time while performing assembly work. Basic numerical ability to use measuring tools such as tape measures and to follow dimensional requirements. Additional Skills & Qualifications Experience assembling large mobile equipment or trailers is beneficial. Back ground in mechanical, electrical, or hydraulic work is an advantage. Comfort working with general labor tasks in a production and fabrication setting. Ability to work effectively as part of a close-knit team and support team-based production goals. Willingness to work overtime as needed when production volume increases. Work Environment The work environment includes both outdoor areas and some indoor shop space, and you need to be comfortable working in a range of weather conditions, including sun, clouds, heat, and cold. You will assemble large water and fuel tanks, coal haulers, bottom-dump trailers, and equipment transports used in construction and mining applications around the world. The role involves frequent standing, bending, and climbing for extended periods while working with hand and power tools and measuring equipment. The position follows a Monday-Friday day shift schedule from 6:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., with overtime opportunities as workload increases. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Albuquerque, NM. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $22.00 - $27.00/hr.
