Generator Technician

Generator Technician We are looking for a skilled Generator Technician to join our team in Canfield, OH. If you have experience working with emergency and standby generators, we want to hear from you! Join a company that values technicians who take pride in servicing, troubleshooting, and repairing various sizes of generators. This role offers the opportunity to work in the field at customer locations, providing top-quality service and support, with some in-shop mechanical work. You'll have the chance to build customer relationships by advising on maintenance contracts and equipment performance, helping clients keep their generators running smoothly. Hours:

Shift begins at 8:00 AM and ends at 4:00 PM, Monday through Friday.

Pay:

Pay is based on experience- $18-$25

Key Responsibilities:

Service various sizes of generators and mechanical equipment Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair generator units Measure electrical and mechanical parameters using testing devices Record repairs, parts used, and labor time Reassemble and rebuild electrical motors and mechanical parts Rewire electrical systems and replace electrical accessories Inspect and test electrical connections, wiring, and related components Read service manuals and schematic diagrams for repairs Operate cranes, hoists, and forklifts safely for heavy parts handling Promote maintenance contracts and advise customers on equipment performance

Minimum Requirements:

Ability to perform mechanical and electrical repairs Good communication skills and customer service orientation Ability to operate hand tools, electrical meters, and test devices Able to work independently and in the field Nice to

Have Skills:

Experience with generator and electrical system troubleshooting Good mechanical skills with hand and power tools Customer relationship skills and upselling experience

Preferred Education and Experience:

5+ years experience in a technician role with applicable schooling Experience with generator systems and repair certifications Class success in manufacturer training courses

Other Requirements:

Must be able to attend overnight training when required Ability to operate a forklift and safely lift heavy equipment Comfortable working in customer homes and sites Valid driver's license and clean driving record
