Job Description

Motorsports Fabricator & TIG Welder (Contractor - Part Time / Project Based)
CONTRACTOR POSITION - IN PERSON / HYBRID
Founded in 2005, PLM (Private Label Mfg.) designs and manufactures performance automotive parts for car enthusiasts worldwide. Our products are used by thousands of enthusiasts and shops across the U.S. and internationally. We are looking for a skilled Motorsports Fabricator & TIG Welder to support product development, prototype fabrication, and test fitting of performance parts. This is a contractor / project-based position (1099) ideal for an experienced fabricator who enjoys hands-on work with performance cars and wants to contribute to developing new aftermarket products. You will work closely with our engineering and product development team to fabricate prototypes, modify existing designs, and test-fit parts on vehicles. Responsibilities Fabricate and modify automotive performance parts to engineering specifications TIG weld stainless steel, aluminum, and mild steel components Assist with prototype development and R&D for new products Perform test fitting and installation of products on vehicles Provide feedback to engineering on design improvements and manufacturability Build or modify fixtures and jigs for small-batch production Document fabrication steps, measurements, and results Maintain and organize shop equipment, tools, and materials Support general shop activities and maintain a clean workspace Qualifications 2+ years experience in TIG welding and motorsports fabrication Experience working with aftermarket performance parts or motorsports applications preferred Ability to fabricate using stainless steel, aluminum, and mild steel Experience building fixtures or tooling for small production runs Familiarity with shop equipment (TIG/MIG welders, bandsaw, drill press, belt sander, press brake, etc.) Ability to read basic engineering drawings and measurements Strong mechanical aptitude and hands-on problem solving Detail oriented and quality focused Ability to work independently and collaboratively with engineers and team members Ability to lift up to 50 lbs Ideal Candidate Passionate about cars and motorsports fabrication Experience with exhaust fabrication, intercooler piping, or performance parts Comfortable working on vehicles for test fitment and prototype development Organized, reliable, and takes pride in high-quality work
