SUMMARY The Mechanical Assembler is primarily responsible for mechanical and electro-mechanical assembly and subassemblies of Wood Stone products. This is a 4x10 shift of 6am - 4:30pm Monday through Thursday.
Key Responsibilities:
Electro-mechanical assembly and sub-assemblies of moderately complex units, requiring adjusting, fitting, and aligning to ordinary tolerances. Works from drawings or specifications. Inspects and tests completed units. Maintain good safety habits and practices, especially with forklifts, cranes, and sawhorses. Use production software to track work, report parts used, and report completed quantities accurately. Rotates workstations within the production departments as needed. Uses power drivers, drills, cutter, torque wrenches, and other power tools. Maintain a clean and organized work area. Maintain good safety habits and practices, especially with cranes and forklifts. Other duties as assigned.
Key Qualifications:
Familiar with standard concepts, practices, and procedures within the electro-mechanical field. Proficient with hand tools and power tools Ability to read blueprints and perform basic math, including understanding fractions Ability to read a tape measure Problem-solving skills Ability to work in a team-oriented environment Requires a high school diploma or its equivalent Requires 0 - 2 years of experience in a similar field Fluency in written and spoken English Ability to come to work regularly in the office Working Conditions While performing the duties of this job, the employee works indoors and on the factory floor. The employee occasionally works near moving mechanical parts and is occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions, fumes, or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals, risk of electrical shock, and vibration. The noise level in the work environment can be loud on the factory floor, ear protection is required in many areas. Potential for overtime and occasional Saturdays may be required. Physical Demands While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear. This position is very active and required standing, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, crouching, crawling, and climbing all day. The employee must frequently lift or move items over 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
