Job Description

Located in Temecula, Optiforms is a leading manufacturer of custom metal components and enhanced surface finishes for high precision applications. We specialize in electroformed and CNC machined components, as well as electrodeposited platings and vacuum deposition coatings. We serve various industries such as aerospace and defense, medical, UV and semiconductor, searchlights and industrial. Position Summary Optiforms is seeking a skilled Deburr Technician experienced in precision hand-finishing and deburring of small, high-tolerance components under magnification. This position plays a critical role in ensuring parts meet stringent aerospace, medical, or precision manufacturing quality standards. The ideal candidate has excellent manual dexterity, strong attention to detail, and experience working under microscopes or magnification tools. Key Responsibilities
  • Deburr, edge break, and finish small precision components using hand tools under magnification (microscope or Mantis stereo microscope)
  • Remove burrs, sharp edges, and surface imperfections while maintaining dimensional integrity and tight tolerances
  • Work with materials such as aluminum, copper, nickel, stainless steel, and specialty alloys
  • Follow work instructions, engineering drawings, and process specifications
  • Maintain cosmetic and functional surface requirements per customer and internal standards
  • Inspect parts visually under magnification to verify completion and quality
  • Use deburring tools such as blades, files, stones, abrasive sticks, brushes, and rotary tools
  • Handle delicate and small components safely to prevent damage
  • Maintain clean and organized workstation, tools, and equipment
  • Communicate quality or process issues to supervision or quality personnel Required Qualifications
  • 1+ years of experience deburring small precision parts under magnification
  • Experience working with microscopes (10x magnification typical)
  • Strong manual dexterity and steady hand control
  • Ability to work with very small and delicate components
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and work instructions
  • High attention to detail and quality standards Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience in aerospace, medical device, electronics, or precision machining environment
  • Familiarity with high-tolerance components and cosmetic requirements
  • Experience working in ISO 9001 and/or AS9100 environment
  • Experience with micro-tools and pneumatic or electric deburring equipment Physical Requirements
  • Ability to sit or stand for extended periods
  • Ability to work under microscope for prolonged periods
  • Good hand-eye coordination and fine motor skills
  • Ability to handle small parts consistently
