PDS Optical is a SDVOSB Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned Small Business that manufactures a very large number of eyeglasses each day. We have Optical Laboratories in Louisville, KY and Fort Lauderdale, FL and manage many optical stores across the US and Puerto Rico. The Digital Technician responsibility is to control the optical manufacturing equipment that blocks, generates, polishes, adds backside coating, and lasers the lenses to the designated curve on the concave side of the lens. . The shift is Monday - Friday, from 2:45pm - 11:15 pm. The starting pay is $17/hr. No previous experience is necessary, we will provide training. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions. Essential Functions include but are not limited to: Block incoming lenses. Transfer alloy from de-blockers to blockers. Must learn how to run all machines within the digital surface department individually. Keep workflow going at a steady pace. Must be able to stand and work on your feet for 8 hours.
