Job Title:
Finishing Technician Job Description The Finishing Technician works on the first shift, Monday through Thursday from 5:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., and is responsible for finishing sand castings by removing gating, cores, and excess material. This role supports a manufacturing environment focused on innovation and sustainability, contributing directly to the quality and readiness of cast products. Responsibilities Remove gating and excess material from sand castings using a belt sander and other finishing tools as needed. Remove cores from castings while maintaining the integrity and quality of the finished parts. Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area throughout the shift. Follow all safety policies and procedures, including the proper use of personal protective equipment. Inspect workpieces during and after finishing to ensure they meet quality standards. Stand for the duration of the assigned shift to perform finishing tasks and operate equipment as required. Essential Skills Experience or familiarity with manufacturing processes and working in a manufacturing environment. Ability to safely operate a belt sander and other basic finishing tools. Ability to lift up to 50 pounds on a regular basis. Ability to read and write in English to follow work instructions and safety guidelines. Mechanical aptitude with good hand-eye dexterity for precise finishing work. Ability to comply with all safety policies and procedures, including consistent use of personal protective equipment. Ability to stand for the entire assigned shift in a production environment. Additional Skills & Qualifications High school diploma or GED preferred. Previous machine shop experience is a plus. Interest in learning new skills and improving processes in a manufacturing setting. Comfort working in a foundry-type environment that can be dirty and loud. Why Work Here? Work Environment This role is based in a foundry-type manufacturing environment that is dirty and loud, with active production equipment and materials. The position follows a first-shift schedule, Monday through Thursday from 5:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Team members must wear appropriate personal protective equipment on the production floor, including steel-toed boots and safety glasses, and adhere to all safety policies and procedures. The work requires standing for the entire shift, handling castings, and working around industrial machinery and tools. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of New Oxford, PA. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $18.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
