Forging Operator- 2nd Shift Columbus McKinnon Corporation - 2.9 Chattanooga, TN Job Details 1 day ago Qualifications Press operation Finished product defect inspection Maintaining an organized workspace Machine operation Manufacturing Clean workspace maintenance Entry level Full Job Description Job Summary/Overview The purpose of this position is to provide forged products produced on crew-serviced drop hammers and die forgers. These positions operate various work centers comprised of multiple pieces of equipment arranged in work cells. Many products are produced using combinations of forging machines and auxiliary equipment in these cells. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Setup and operate all machines and equipment in this work center. Adjust as necessary to produce an acceptable product. Must be able to set up and run a variety of trim presses. Verify product quality by using manufacturing prints and gauges. Must be able to work in a crew and fast paced environment. Wear proper personal protective equipment as required for this work center. Ability to maintain a clean, organized, and safe workspace. Performs other related duties as assigned Knowledge, Skills, Competencies, and Abilities Must be able to interpret documents such as manufacturing prints and work order packets. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to interpret drawings and work order packets to setup equipment and run acceptable products. Ability to lift/lower/push/pull up to 40 lbs. safely. Required Qualifications Previous forging experience preferred. Most maintain a safe work environment, a positive attitude, and a willingness to learn.
