Wire EDM Operator

Hatch Stamping Company is looking for a Wire EDM Operator. The Wire EDM Operator is responsible for programming, setting up, maintaining, and running Wire EDM machines. Responsibilities (This section is not inclusive. Other duties may be assigned as necessary). Print reading : Understanding what needs to be machined and what type of tolerance you have to maintain to produce quality details

Inspection :

Inspecting the details at the beginning before machining to ensure that tolerances have been met and the detail is correct.

Programming :

Using Mastercam software to program multiple details. Making sure you have the correct CAD. Following the standard machining practices taught by Hatch Stamping.

G Code Editing :

Editing the G code for an easier program to change offsets and finish details in a timely fashion, finding errors, or troubleshooting.

Set up:

Setting up parts in the machine according to how you program them. Making sure the part is flat, straight, correct side up and with a correct zero set off print or CAD. Attention to detail on various tolerances : Constantly checking CAD compared to print to maintain you are keeping correct sizes of details. Measuring and adjusting the program as needed during machining. Preventative Maintenance on the EDM machines : Performing cleaning process every three months on the Wire EDM machine. Disassembling the upper and lower head unit along with the wire feeders and rollers. Cleaning every part and reassembling the machine and doing a wire alignment and setting all parameters for your taper settings everytime. Ordering consumable products for EDM machines : Wire, filters, power feeders, D.I. water, and various parts for machine per PM.

Using various measuring tool:

Indicators, micrometers, dial calipers, bore gaes, etc. Qualifications and Skills Must have High School Diploma or GED. Experience with both Wire EDM and CNC milling machines is required. Basic understanding of CAD/CAM systems. Journeyman certification preferred.

Effective communication skills:

verbal, phone and written. Strong mechanical and shop math aptitude. Demonstrated problem solving and analytical skills. Basic PC competency to include MS Word, Excel, and internet. Some of our Outstanding Benefits Hatch Stamping offers an excellent compensation and benefits package.
