Job Description

Overview Join our growing team at Port Angeles Composite LLC as a Composite Lay-Up Technician, where you will play a key role in the fabrication of high-quality composite parts. In this entry-level position, you will perform hands-on lay-up of composite materials using molds, mandrels, and specialized tools in a fast-paced aerospace manufacturing environment. We're looking for individuals who are detail-oriented, eager to learn, and able to follow precise procedures. This is a full-time position (Monday-Friday, 6:00 AM - 2:30 PM) offering the opportunity to develop valuable skills in composite manufacturing. Duties Perform hand lay-up of composite materials using molds, mandrels, and tools Verify materials and kits match part specifications and planning documents Organize and prepare materials according to production requirements Complete material data sheets and required documentation Prepare tools and assist with fabrication processes Maintain a clean work area to prevent contamination (FOD) Follow bagging procedures and perform leak tests to meet specifications Ensure parts remain under vacuum until ready for autoclave processing Follow all work instructions and planning procedures Perform general cleanup and additional tasks as assigned Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent required Blueprint reading and manufacturing experience preferred Experience in hands-on work (e.g., manufacturing, or crafts) is a plus Strong attention to detail and ability to follow instructions Good manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination Ability to use hand tools and measuring tools Ability to maintain consistent attendance and punctuality Willingness to learn and develop new skills Work Environment & Requirements Ability to work in a clean room, temperature-controlled manufacturing environment Frequent standing, walking, bending, and repetitive motion throughout the shift Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and assist with heavier items as needed Must wear required PPE (lab coats, gloves, hair nets, etc.) at all times Must follow strict cleanliness and safety standards (no food or drink in work areas) Occasional use of respiratory protection depending on materials handled Closing Statement If you're a motivated individual who enjoys hands-on work and takes pride in producing high-quality products, this is a great opportunity to start a career in composite manufacturing.
