$18.00 - $19.00 D.O.E. Position Overview PrideStaff is partnering with a premier manufacturing company seeking a detail-oriented and hardworking Finisher to join their RIM (Reaction Injection Molding) Molding Department. In this role, you will be responsible for the final preparation, cosmetic repair, and bonding of molded plastic and wood components. If you enjoy hands-on craftsmanship, have experience with power tools (sanders, drills, grinders), and have a sharp eye for finding and fixing surface imperfections, we want you on our production team!
Key Responsibilities Surface Finishing:
Sand, bead-blast, and smooth out molded parts/products to prepare them for final inspection or coating.
Component Bonding:
Securely glue plastic and wood parts and carefully install threaded inserts as specified by product designs.
Equipment Operation:
Safely and efficiently operate a variety of manufacturing equipment, including power drills, grinders, and various types of sanders.
Quality & Cosmetic Repair:
Examine finished molded parts for surface defects, mix custom filling compounds, and apply them expertly to areas needing repair.
Precision Handling:
Protect the integrity of products by ensuring delicate radii, corners, and intricate filigree areas of molded parts are not damaged during the sanding process.
Documentation & Tracking:
Accurately fill out finishing router sheets and log production times/data in and out of the company ERP system.
Job Requirements & Qualifications Experience:
Related manufacturing, finishing, or assembly experience/training; or an equivalent combination of education and hands-on experience.
Technical & Soft Skills:
Ability to read and follow basic technical instructions, a strong work ethic, and a willingness to learn specific precision finishing processes.
Physical Demands & Working Conditions Physical Stamina:
Must be able to stand for the duration of the shift, regularly walk, stoop, kneel, crouch, and reach. Frequent use of hands to handle, feel, and manipulate small parts or tools is required.
Lifting:
Must regularly lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
Vision:
Excellent close vision, distance vision, color vision, and depth perception are necessary to spot minute product defects.
Environment:
Comfortable working in a loud, high-energy industrial setting. This position involves regular exposure to fumes, airborne dust particles, and toxic/caustic manufacturing chemicals.
Required PPE:
To ensure your safety, you are required to wear a protective mask, earplugs, safety glasses, and finger protectors while working on the production floor.
