Position Overview Kammetal is seeking a reliable and motivated General Shop Helper to support multiple departments within our fabrication shop. This is a hands-on role ideal for someone who enjoys working with tools, learning new skills, and contributing to a fast-paced production environment. No prior experience required—we are willing to train the right candidate. Key Responsibilities Assist fabrication and CNC sheet metal departments Perform material handling and part preparation Saw cutting, grinding, sanding, drilling, and countersinking Deburring and cleaning of parts Finish metal surfaces (grinding welds, orbital sanding, polishing, #4 finish) Package and strap finished goods for shipment Maintain a clean, safe, and organized workspace Support team members and perform general shop duties as needed Qualifications Mechanical aptitude and hands-on mindset Experience with hand tools preferred (not required) Ability to follow written and verbal instructions Strong attention to detail and work ethic Reliable and punctual Ability to read basic drawings and shop travelers (preferred) Basic math skills Comfortable using basic computer applications High school diploma or GED (or equivalent experience) Additional Requirements Ability to lift 50 lbs and stand for extended periods Willingness to work overtime as needed Benefits Health insurance Paid time off Work Environment In-person role in a manufacturing/shop setting
