Perform sand blasting using a blast cabinet to put a finish on parts and become proficient knowing what blasting medium should be used for various operations. Conduct visual inspections to achieve surface finishes per specifications and blueprints. Perform required set-ups and operation of the appropriate finishing equipment ensuring correct equipment is utilized to apply proper finish. Acquire Production Approval (PA) when specified on job router or work order. Counts parts before beginning to work on job and when finished before moving on to next operation. Maintain a clean and organized workspace, adhering to safety guidelines. Actively participates in 5S daily operator checklist responsibilities. Additional duties may be assigned by production supervisor to meet company production goals.Qualification Requirements Credentials/Experience:
High school diploma or general education degree (GED or HiSET) Experience working hand tools, sanders, and grinders preferred.Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Accurately use all measuring equipment and to read basic blueprints. Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out simple one or two step instructions under direction of supervisor. Listening, verbal, and written communication skills; ability to read and interpret quality standards and work orders; ability to communicate clearly with production team on quality issues. Ability to deal with standardized situations with only occasional or no variables. Ability to comply with all safety policies, practices, and procedures and to report all unsafe activities to supervisor. Able to meet production metrics as required for position. Ability to meet attendance requirements per the employee handbook policy. Able to communicate respectfully with other and work in a team environment. Learn and practice daily any/all Lean practices introduced in the area. Attention to detail and willingness to learn.
