What You'll Do As a Powder Coater II, you'll play a key role in delivering the high-quality finishes our customers expect by: Applying powder coatings evenly and consistently on a variety of metal components and assemblies Reviewing work orders, job numbers, and color specifications to ensure accuracy Inspecting finished parts for proper coverage, appearance, and quality standards Performing touch-ups and rework when necessary to achieve a superior finish Identifying, troubleshooting, and correcting common coating defects Assisting with color changes while preventing contamination between runs Cleaning and maintaining spray guns, booths, and related equipment Safely moving materials through the coating and curing process Working closely with team members to maintain production flow and quality expectations Serving as a resource for less experienced team members by sharing best practices and proper techniques Following established operating procedures, quality standards, and safety requirements with precision What Success Looks Like Consistently produces high-quality finishes that meet or exceed company standards Accurately follows work instructions, color specifications, and coating procedures Maintains strong attention to detail while working efficiently Minimizes rework through proactive quality inspections and process discipline Takes ownership of product quality and identifies potential issues before they impact production Contributes positively to a team-focused manufacturing environment What We're Looking For 2+ years of powder coating, industrial painting, or related finishing experience Working knowledge of powder coating equipment, application techniques, and finishing processes Ability to recognize and correct common coating defects Demonstrated ability to consistently follow Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), work instructions, and quality requirements Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality work Ability to work independently with minimal supervision Strong communication skills and ability to follow written and verbal instructions Ability to safely lift, move, and position materials as required A positive attitude and strong team-oriented mindset Preferred Qualifications Experience setting up, adjusting, and optimizing powder coating equipment Experience using coating inspection or quality verification tools Experience mentoring or training less experienced team members Why Join Awnex?
