POSITION SUMMARY
DOT America Polishers/Metal Finishers are responsible for all aspects of the polishing process, including: material handling, setup, equipment operation, process monitoring, quality control, and various support activities.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Operation, monitoring, and inspection of polishing process.
  • Utilizes multiple pieces of equipment to establish part specific finishes on Medical Implants and devices.
  • Could assist and operate in cleaning, inspecting, blasting, EP, and post processing.
  • Utilizes various forms of measuring equipment, along with blue print reading, to verify and document process parameters and the quality of the process output, including micrometers, calipers, Keyence, and optical comparator.
  • Identifies non-conformities and teams with quality personnel to determine appropriate dispositions and corrective and preventative actions.
  • Follows job routings and standard operating procedures, accurately documenting information as required.
  • Assist production management in achieving scheduling requirements.
  • Participates in the performance of equipment and process testing, including validation activities.
  • Maintains a clean and safe work area.
  • Pursues on-going business goals of quality improvement, cost reductions, and other continuous improvements. Regularly contributes to the company's corrective and preventative action programs.
  • The polishing/metal finisher production technician's duties and responsibilities may change regularly based on company needs.
The technician is required to be flexible, and may be assigned to other related duties at any time.
QUALIFICATIONS

    EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE
    : A High School diploma or equivalent is required. A minimum of 2 years of relevant experience polishing medical devices required.
      COMPUTER SKILLS
      : Proficiency in software applications, including but not limited to MS office applications and ERP systems preferred.
        LANGUAGE SKILLS
        : Ability to read, analyze, and interpret blueprints, specifications, technical procedures, and governmental regulations. Ability to accurately document results on routings or other quality system forms. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from management or auditors.
        • MATHEMATICAL and
        REASONING SKILLS
        : Ability to collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to apply mathematical operations to such tasks as statistical process control.
          PHYSICAL DEMANDS
          While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to speak and hear. The employee frequently is required to stand; walk; utilize hands to hold, handle, or feel; and reach with hands and arms. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include color vision.
            WORK ENVIRONMENT
            While performing the duties of this job, the Team Member may be exposed to fumes or airborne particles. The Team Member will need to work safely with toxic, acidic, and caustic chemicals. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.

            The position will not be required to travel
