Painter - Job Summary We are seeking a detail-oriented and safety-conscious Painter to join our team in a steel fabrication environment. This role is responsible for preparing, coating, and finishing steel components to meet quality and durability standards. The ideal candidate is dependable, takes pride in their work, and can perform efficiently in a fast-paced production setting while maintaining a strong commitment to safety. Key Responsibilities Prepare steel surfaces by cleaning, grinding, and sandblasting as needed Apply primers, paints, and protective coatings using spray equipment or other methods Ensure proper coating thickness and finish quality according to specifications Inspect finished products for defects and compliance with standards Mix paints and coatings according to manufacturer guidelines Maintain painting equipment and ensure proper operation Follow all safety procedures related to coatings, ventilation, and personal protective equipment Keep work areas clean and organized Collaborate with team members to meet production goals and deadlines Perform additional duties as assigned Qualifications & Skills Experience with industrial or commercial painting preferred Knowledge of surface preparation techniques and coating applications Ability to operate spray guns and other painting equipment Strong attention to detail and quality control Ability to follow written and verbal instructions Dependable with strong work ethic and time management skills Commitment to maintaining a safe work environment Ability to safely operate a forklift Ability to work independently and use sound judgment Willingness to learn through hands-on training and instruction Physical & Work Requirements Ability to stand, walk, bend, and lift for extended periods Ability to lift and handle materials (typically up to 50 lbs.) Comfortable working in confined spaces and at varying heights Ability to work in environments with fumes, dust, and varying temperatures (with proper PPE) Ability to perform physically demanding tasks in a fast-paced setting Pre-employment physical and drug screening required.
