Job Description

Objective Join our team as a Metal Shop Associate and play a hands-on role in building high-quality metal products in a manufacturing environment. In this position, you'll work with a variety of tools and equipment to cut, shape, and assemble components to precise specifications, while maintaining a strong focus on safety and quality. We're looking for dependable, detail-oriented individuals who take pride in their work, enjoy working with their hands, and are eager to learn. Essential Functions include the following. Other duties may be assigned. Assist in cutting, shaping, and assembling metal components according to specifications Reads and interprets blueprints, work instructions, and technical symbols to ensure completed parts meet specifications Demonstrates a strong understanding of blueprint reading, welding symbols, and geometric dimensioning and tolerancing, and applies this knowledge to verify finished part accuracy Ability to set up and weld complex assemblies, using mig welders and spot welders Collaborate with team members and supervisors to meet production goals Sets up and operates the paint line, including hanging/removing parts, applying and removing plugs and caps, labeling parts as needed, and properly bagging and sealing finished products Accurately enters job data into the system, including time tracking and production counts Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment Other duties as required Supervisory Responsibility This position has no direct supervisory responsibilities. Position Type/Expected Hours of Work This is a full-time position. Hours of work are expected to align with REI's production hours, Monda-Friday, 7am-3:30pm. Required Education and Experience to perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill and/or ability required. High school diploma or equivalent required Previous manufacturing or metal shop experience required Ability to read basic measurements (tape measures, calipers, etc.) Strong communication skills, both verbal and written Ability to follow instructions and work independently or as part of a team Strong attention to detail and quality Ability to regularly lift 25-50 lbs., stand, walk, and perform repetitive tasks for extended periods Experience with metal fabrication or welding preferred Familiarity with CNC machines or fabrication tools preferred Travel This position does not require travel. This role is physically demanding and requires the ability to work in a manufacturing environment with exposure to noise, dust, and varying temperatures. Frequent standing, walking, bending, stooping, kneeling, and crouching. Requires regular lifting, carrying, pushing, and pulling of materials up to 50lbs. Typical manufacturing/warehouse environment.
