We are growing rapidly and investing in our people, our facility, and our equipment. Position Summary We are seeking a skilled and dependable Sandblaster to join our finishing department. The Sandblaster is responsible for preparing fabricated parts and assemblies for paint, powder coat, or other downstream finishing processes by removing scale, rust, weld spatter, and surface contaminants using abrasive blasting equipment. This role is critical to the quality and appearance of the finished product delivered to our customers. Key Responsibilities Operate sandblasting equipment safely and efficiently to clean, strip, and prepare parts of varying sizes and materials (carbon steel, stainless steel, aluminum). Select and load appropriate abrasive media based on part specifications and customer requirements. Mask and protect areas of parts that should not be blasted per work instructions and engineering drawings. Inspect parts before and after blasting to verify surface finish meets specification. Maintain, clean, and perform routine operator-level maintenance on blast cabinets, blast rooms, hoses, nozzles, and dust collection systems. Manage abrasive media inventory, recycling, and replacement. Wear required PPE at all times, including supplied-air or blast hood respirator, gloves, coveralls, and hearing protection. Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area in accordance with 5S and OSHA standards. Support other finishing and production areas as needed. Required Qualifications High school diploma or GED. 1+ year of sandblasting, abrasive blasting, or industrial finishing experience, preferably in a manufacturing or fabrication environment. Ability to consistently lift up to 50 lbs, stand for extended periods, and work in a physically demanding environment with exposure to noise, dust, and varying temperatures. Comfortable wearing supplied-air or blast hood respirator for extended periods. Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality. Reliable attendance and positive team-oriented attitude. Preferred Qualifications Experience sandblasting aerospace, defense, or other precision-manufactured components. Familiarity with
AS9100, ISO
9001, or similar quality management systems. Experience with powder coat or wet paint prep processes. Forklift certification.
