Our work is trusted by Steinway & Sons, the Seattle Symphony, and professionals across the Pacific Northwest. We are hands-on, detail-driven, and rooted in long-term skill development under direct mentorship from craftsmen with more than four decades of experience. We are hiring an entry-level finisher to join our team. This is a ground-floor position with a defined path into skilled finishing or restoration work for the right candidate. We are not looking for someone passing through — we are looking for someone who wants to learn the craft and grow with the firm. Responsibilities Preparing and masking pieces for finishing Sanding, stripping, and surface preparation on furniture, pianos, and architectural elements Maintaining a clean, organized shop and caring for tools and materials Supporting daily production tasks alongside experienced finishers Following safety protocols and shop standards consistently Requirements Consistent attendance and punctuality Ability to use hand tools and power tools competently Ability to lift 50 lbs and perform sustained physical work Comfortable with repetitive prep work, dust, solvents, and long periods of focused hand-sanding Willingness to take direction, accept correction, and apply it Interest in developing a long-term skill, not just holding a job Advantageous (not required) Background in cabinetry, woodworking, flooring, or related trades Basic finishing knowledge Experience working in a production shop environment
