Industrial Sandblaster Pay:

$18 - $25 per hour

This job posting is for the full-time position of Sandblaster with ASAP Metal Fabricators, a sheet-metal manufacturing job shop in Yakima, WA. We are a small business with local owners, you won't be treated like a number here. This position is responsible for the daily setup, operation, and maintenance of our Sandblaster. Training and assistance will be provided as needed. We're looking for someone super reliable, who can work well with others and is excited to work on different parts every day.

Here are some details:

Typical Responsibilities Set up and operate Sandblaster in a fully enclosed blast booth Remove dirt, paint, grease, and other materials from metal surfaces Mask surfaces needing protection as needed Perform assigned work expediently, while always meeting quality specifications Loading parts onto hanger carts and unload as needed Safely operate a forklift to transport raw materials and completed parts Perform preventative maintenance inspections on blast equipment Problem solve daily maintenance issues, unclog hoses, repair equipment Know when to escalate an issue and seek assistance Float and assist other team members and work centers from time to time Always work Safely, wear appropriate PPE to protect yourself at all times Keep work area and tools organized Follow all company rules and policies Follow all safety rules and quality standards Communicate productively with the team to identify and overcome problems Work productively with the team, build a respectful work environment that we can all be proud of There will be opportunities to cross-train, gain new skills and support other areas of the business. Preferred Qualifications Previous Sandblasting, Powder Coating background Experience operating sandblast equipment Experience with mechanical repairs, maintenance of sandblast equipment Ability to operate a forklift Must be able to lift 50lbs Flexible and responsive, with a strong teamwork orientation Good verbal and written communication skills Desire to learn new skills and improve my technical knowledge Commitment to quality of work performed Demonstrated ability to effectively implement or respond to change The right person for this role will: Have a great Attitude Be Safety Conscious Be Dependable Be a great Team Player Be focused on Excellence Be Growth-minded, willing to try new things There will be opportunities to cross-train, gain new skills and support other areas of the business. Preferred Experience 0-4 Years experience as an Industrial Sandblaster or Powder Coater Forklift Certification, at least within 90 days of start date The business operates on a standard 40-hour workweek. Overtime may occasionally be required.

Standard hours of operation are:

Monday-Thursday, 6:00 am - 3:30 pm Fridays, 6:00 am - 10:00 am All employees are eligible for medical benefits, 401k with 1% match, and Paid-Time-Off.
