Stain Finisher

Position Summary:

Responsible for hand staining cabinetry and associated parts.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Disassemble items to prepare them for finishing, using hand tools Preparation to include: filling joints, remove marks, and repair imperfections using wood putty, bondo, and/or glue; sand surfaces with sand paper and orbital sanders to prepare them to accept stain Hand-rub stain formula on all associated parts of the cabinets and prepare them to go into the lacquer room Must be able to use creative judgement in obtaining desired colors/shades - work must match stain control samples on a consistent basis Must follow all stain protocols Check the quality and accuracy of pieces to ensure adherence to specifications Responsible for repairing any defects Must be able to operate machines associated with this process Responsible for keeping work area clean and organized Professionalism with co-workers must be exemplified at all times Other duties as requested, directed, and assigned

Qualifications:

High School diploma required Must be highly organized, flexible, and a self-starter Must be detail oriented Must be able to multi-task and prioritize Must follow established company policies and procedures Ability to listen and communicate effectively with coworkers in an effort to respond to common inquires Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables

Physical Requirements:

Must be stand for long periods of time Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds Must be able to bend, squat, twist, and turn Must wear personal safety equipment (PPE)

Working Environment:

Typical indoor manufacturing environment. The noise level is usually moderate to high and hearing protection will be required on the production floor. Safety glasses are required on the production floor. Additional PPE may be required depending on specific tasks.
