POSITION OVERVIEW

We are seeking a dependable, organized, and detail-oriented Bake Lab Technician to support daily operations within our R D department. This role is central to maintaining an efficient, professional bake lab environment and encompasses sample preparation, ingredient management, formulation projects, and customer-focused bakery testing. The ideal candidate is trustworthy, precise, and eager to learn. Many projects involve scaling sensitive ingredients and preparing samples that directly support customer development and technical evaluations, making consistency and accuracy essential to success in this role.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Accurately scale and prepare bakery samples and test formulas Maintain organization and cleanliness of the bake lab and all equipment Manage ingredient inventory, stock rotation, and lab supplies Assist with documenting procedures and developing Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) Support R D projects, customer sample preparation, and internal testing initiatives Collaborate with R D, Quality, and cross-functional team members using shared bakery equipment and workspace Uphold sanitation and food safety standards throughout the lab at all times Assist with mixing, baking, packaging, and shipping samples as needed Contribute to an organized and efficient workflow within the lab environment

QUALIFICATIONS

Hands-on experience in bakery, culinary, food manufacturing, or a related field preferred Strong attention to detail with the ability to follow instructions precisely Organized and capable of multitasking effectively in a fast-paced environment Positive, team-oriented attitude with strong interpersonal skills Willingness to learn formulation principles, ingredient functionality, and bakery systems Basic computer and documentation skills preferred Ability to lift ingredients and supplies as required by the role

EDUCATION

Preferred:

Bachelor of Science in Food Science or a related discipline Equivalent experience in bakery, food production, culinary arts, or a related hands-on industry is strongly valued and encouraged.
