Position Overview The Food Technologist/Product Development Tech works on the development of new formulas, sourcing, trials and other Product Development responsibilities. They will assist in bringing new products from concept to launch. This position will help maintain the daily operations of the Food Lab, including organizing, stocking, and maintaining a clean work environment. Essential Functions Assist in product development needs from benchtop development to scale up and launch. Assists in plant trials and start-ups and recording trial data & results. Manages and ensures R D ingredients inventoried by location, lot code, amount, and expiration date. Oversees new item shelf-life testing. Assists projects with responsibilities included but not limited to customer samples in the development phase, product formula/recipe creation, creation of development timelines, product Specification Sheets, Batch Records, ingredient and formula/recipe costing Keeps lab clean and organized. Follow all Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP's) Responsible for maintaining a food safe work environment. Experience, Education, Skills & Knowledge 1+ years' experience in food manufacturing or food preparation 1+ years' experience with product formula/recipe development Food Science, Culinary, Nutrition, or relevant degree Must have a refined palate and can understand flavors and textures Basic knowledge of HACCP and allergen management Experience with food manufacturing equipment and processes a plus Must be able to multi-task Comfortable working in a dynamic and changing environment Has experience sourcing ingredients Must possess strong communication skills Experience working cross-functionally with multiple teams Work Environment Able to stand for extended periods of time (12 hours per day) Able to lift up to 50 lbs.
