Full Job Description Job Summary:
As a Food Safety & Quality Control Technician, you will play a key role in ensuring our products meet the highest food safety and quality standards. You'll be responsible for monitoring production quality, conducting inspections and tests, maintaining accurate records, and supporting food safety programs (HACCP, GMP, SSOP).
Key Responsibilities:
Monitor and verify daily production processes for compliance with quality standards (Make sure the correct product is being made and it is being made correctly) Enforce Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs) and Standard Sanitation Operating Procedures (SSOPs) Help ensure programs/procedures in HACCP Plan are followed Conduct inspections of raw materials, as well as in-process, and finished products Oversee environmental and product testing, including swabbing and sampling Maintain accurate records and documentation of quality and safety checks Assist with internal audits and USDA inspections Train and educate production staff on GMPs, hygiene, and quality procedures Report and investigate quality issues and non-conformances with production staff and supervisors, recommending corrective actions Ensure accurate product labeling and packaging compliance Maintain cleanliness and calibration of safety and quality control equipment Competencies (in order of importance) Dependability — Job requires being reliable, responsible, dependable, and fulfilling obligations Attention to Detail — Job requires being careful about detail to ensure the safety of ones-self and others and to ensure the quality of the product Cooperation — Job requires being pleasant with others on the job and displaying a good-natured, cooperative attitude Integrity — Job requires being honest and ethical Stress Tolerance — Job requires being able to function effectively in a high-stress environment
Qualifications:
Knowledge of HACCP, GMPs, SSOPs, and food safety regulations High school diploma or equivalent required 3-4 years of experience in a food manufacturing or food manufacturing safety role; meat or USDA-regulated facility experience a plus Detail-oriented with strong organizational and documentation skills Ability to work with a production team in a fast-paced environment Strong bilingual verbal and written communication skills (English and Spanish)
Physical Requirements:
Must be able to work in refrigerated environments Stand and walk for extended periods Lift up to 50 lbs as needed
