Horticulture Plant Technician and Driver

We are looking for a detailed Horticulture Plant Installer and Driver who will assist our Operations Manager in performing tasks such as installing plants at client accounts and helping move plant inventory to our locations and from the growers. This is a diverse role position within our company. It involves installation of new accounts at our client's locations, installation of remodels of plants at their locations, assisting in projects at our office locations as well as at our clients, sometimes helping other staff members in doing plant maintenance at different locations, maintenance of plants and the equipment around our Greenhouses, driving to our different locations to deliver and pick up plants and many other plant related tasks that help us run our Greenhouse Division. Some of the Job Functions include: Responsible for prepping plants prior to loading into truck, loading plants, containers, supplies in the truck carefully. Checking relevant paper work to ensure preparedness for the job Delivering to the job site and unloading, trimming and removing dead foliage. Responsible for accurately scanning of plants and containers into the account through our electronic system. Responsible for weekly delivery of plants to other divisions as necessary To maintain Vehicle in a clean and safe operational condition Responsible for prepping plants prior to loading onto truck Responsible in maintaining proper tools and consumable supplies Deliver to job site and unload, ensure plants and containers are clean (Trim and remove dead foliage) Responsible for final cleaning, sweeping floors, walkways and around the vehicle after the installation or when plants are pulled from an account Helping take care of plants at the greenhouses as needed Responsible to travel to plant growers within Florida to pick up plants for our Greenhouse at times.

Qualifications:

Valid Florida driver's license and auto insurance

  Must pass prehire requirements of Drug Test, Physical, and background check

  This position is physically demanding and requires the applicant to be able to lift up to 50lbs on a regular basis as well as function in a physical position such as standing, stooping, bending, turning, twisting, walking, kneeling, squatting and climbing ladders. Able to work in environmental conditions of cold, hot, wet and humid conditions
• this position involves outdoor and indoor work.

Ability to properly use essential tools (but not limited) to Shovels, Shears, Rakes, Hand and power Sprayers, etc.

Preferred Experience/Skills:

Gardening or horticultural work, which involves plant maintenance; OR, any equivalent combination of experience and/or education from which comparable knowledge, skills and abilities have been achieved. Knowledge of botany or horticulture, or agriculture, or plant maintenance techniques.
