We grow pesticide-free salads, herbs, microgreens, and salad kits in smart vertical farms that produce more food with far fewer resources—using up to 95% less water and renewable electricity, with no reliance on weather or seasons. Our produce is available in more than 17,000 retail locations nationwide, including Kroger, Whole Foods, HEB, and The Fresh Market, and reaches food service partners across the country year-round. Our proprietary growing platform, developed by our technology subsidiary, Infinite Acres, provides our teams with real-time data and control over every aspect of the growing environment—making our farms among the most advanced in the world. We operate commercial farms in Ohio, Kentucky, Georgia, Texas, South Carolina, and Colorado, packhouses in Indiana, Virginia, and Washington, and research and development facilities in Arkansas, Israel, and the Netherlands. The Impact You'll Make We are searching for a grower technician to support daily cultivation and sanitation operations across a vertical farm. Working alongside experienced growers, you will build hands-on knowledge of hydroponic systems, food safety, and plant health in a physically demanding, detail-oriented environment. What You'll Be Responsible For Mix nutrient solutions; monitor and adjust EC/pH levels across hydroponic systems Complete pre/post-shift walkthroughs, equipment checks, and documentation Visually inspect trays, gutters, and canopy for plant stress, pest pressure, or system anomalies; report findings to senior growers Assist with seeding, transplanting, thinning, and harvest activities as directed Scout for pests and disease; apply treatments under senior grower supervision Set up and break down grow equipment, racks, trays, and substrate materials Perform scheduled lane pulls: clean gutter systems, drip emitters, and grow covers per SOP rotation Clean and sanitize sump tanks on a rotating schedule; log all sanitation activities in PRIVA or equivalent system General sanitation of tech aisle, grow lab, and grow zone floors (sweeping, mopping, debris removal) Pressure wash benches, trays, and cultivation equipment between crop cycles Coordinate with Machine Operators and Maintenance on lane pull timing to minimize crop disruption Maintain PPE standards at all times, including when working at heights Record environmental parameters (temperature, humidity, CO₂, light levels); escalate anomalies immediately Assist with data entry for crop logs, yield tracking, and food safety documentation Other duties as assigned What You Bring Associate's degree preferred; high school diploma or GED equivalent required 1+ year of experience in production agriculture, greenhouse, vertical farm, food manufacturing, or sanitation in a food-safe environment What Makes You Successful Here Genuine interest in agriculture, horticulture, plant science, or food production Ability to follow written and verbal SOPs with high attention to detail Basic computer literacy sufficient for digital logging and task management systems Reliable, punctual, and physically able to perform demanding, repetitive work Familiarity with hydroponic systems, growing media, or nutrient management concepts Prior experience with food safety programs (GAP, FSMA, SQF, or similar) Experience working in regulated environments with documented procedures Basic understanding of plant physiology or crop production materials, tools, and equipment Working at 80 Acres Farms At 80 Acres Farms , we believe taking care of our people is just as important as taking care of our plants.
