Job Description

Position Summary The Production & Precision Ag Specialist is responsible for supporting customers and internal teams with advanced precision agriculture solutions that improve productivity, profitability, and operational efficiency. This role focuses on equipment technology, data management, agronomic support, and customer training for growers, applicators, and production operations. The Specialist acts as the technical expert for all precision ag products and services offered by Sydenstricker + Nobbe Partners. Key Responsibilities Serve as the primary technical resource for precision agriculture products including guidance, display systems, GPS, AutoTrac, Section Control, and data platforms. Support production agriculture customers with setup, calibration, optimization, and troubleshooting of precision ag equipment. Partner with Sales, Parts, and Service teams to ensure complete customer solutions and seamless technology integration. Conduct on-farm demonstrations, training, and technology consultations to drive adoption and customer satisfaction. Assist customers with data setup, transfer, analysis, and interpretation using John Deere Operations Center and related software. Maintain strong relationships with growers, agribusinesses, and internal stakeholders. Identify customer needs and recommend appropriate precision ag upgrades, hardware, and service solutions. Support preseason inspections, planting, application, and harvest operations as needed. Stay current on emerging precision ag technologies, agronomic trends, and competitive products. Accurately document service activities, customer interactions, and support cases. Participate in marketing events, field days, training sessions, and company promotions. Adhere to company safety policies and all regulatory requirements. May work flexible hours, including evenings and some weekends Associate or bachelor's degree in agriculture, Agronomy, Precision Ag, or related field preferred (or equivalent experience). 2+ years of experience in precision agriculture, agronomy, farm operations, or agricultural technology support preferred. Strong working knowledge of GPS, guidance systems, application technology, yield monitoring, and farm data platforms. Experience with John Deere precision ag systems strongly preferred. Excellent customer service, communication, and training skills. Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting abilities. Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and manage multiple priorities. Proficiency with computers, mobile devices, and agricultural software systems. Valid driver's license and acceptable driving record. Ability to work extended hours during peak seasons and travel within assigned territory. Physical & Work Environment Requirements Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. Work performed in shop, field, and office environments. Exposure to outdoor elements, dust, noise, and agricultural chemicals. Frequent standing, walking, bending, and climbing on equipment.
