Channel Fish has grown and developed from a local Boston fish processor of Cod and Haddock, to a nationwide seafood distributor, providing a wide variety of fresh and frozen seafood products. Building long term partnerships with customers, suppliers, and employees The Food Safety Technician is a critical function at Channel Fish Processing. This person is responsible for daily inspection and monitoring of the facility, personnel, operations, and products to ensure compliance with company and government sanitation and food safety standards. Duties Perform analytical and organoleptic inspections of fresh and frozen seafood ensuring products are produced to specifications. Maintain food safety and quality records for regulatory and company purposes. Inspect/monitor facility, production lines and personnel to ensure compliance with sanitation standards and GMP. Assist in the execution of company food safety programs. (BRC, USDC
HACCP, FDA
GMPs). Assist in label production and allergen declaration verification. Assist in product specification development and maintenance. Other tasks assigned as needed. Requirements High school diploma. Excellent English written and oral skills (second language Spanish speaking a plus). Working knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel programs. Ability to work well with others. Flexibility to work overtime when necessary. HACCP training and certification a plus, however the company will pay for training certification. Physical Requirements Regularly standing and walking for prolonged periods of time Able to lift to 50 lbs. on occasion.
