Job Description

Express is a full service staffing and recruiting firm with an international presence and local ownership. Our location services the Delmarva Peninsula from Chestertown, MD to Wallops Island, VA, and Bay to Ocean. We assist local companies in hiring qualified individuals for their openings in office, commercial, industrial, and medical settings, including temporary, evaluation hire and direct hire placements. Expand your search with Express! Our client is seeking a Senior Food Technician! This position will be for 3 months.
Position Summary:
Assists with the design, plan, validation and implementation of new products, line extensions, product improvements and technical service that meet product offering requirements. Maintains R&D laboratory and equipment for specified location.
Responsibilities:
Under limited supervision, execute assigned product development activities in order of priority Conducts varied and routine tests in laboratory, pilot plant and production following recognized procedures Evaluate and record results of testing including product attributes, formulations and processing parameters; maintain results in an organized manner Communicate results and provide data insight to supervisor and suppliers as directed Support bench-top and pilot plant testing, plant trials and product start-ups in collaboration with scientists and pilot/plant operations staff; includes the coordination of product and ingredient shipments Support product developers by entering data into assigned systems Work independently to develop customer R&D samples and ship to customers as requested Maintain appropriate inventories of commonly used ingredients and laboratory supplies Responsible for upkeep of laboratory equipment Complete project objectives within the established timeframe Maintain accurate and complete records Maintain an organized work area, following GMPs Assist other departments to support business needs as requested- QA, Micro Lab, etc.
Qualifications & Requirements:
Three years' experience in QA or the food industry Communicate effectively and openly while working with a cross-functional team Must be a self-starter, independent, energetic and resourceful Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously and efficiently Excellent written and verbal communications skills Computer proficiency in Microsoft Office applications Experience utilizing ERP systems and nutritional software Have a valid Driver's License and reliable transportation
Education:
High School plus specialized training OR Associate Degree/College Diploma in a Scientific Background OR Bachelor's Degree in a
Scientific Background Pay:
$25.00 per hour
