Maintenance Technician

  • Full-Time Position Overview A manufacturing operation is seeking an experienced Maintenance Technician to support production and facility equipment in a fast-paced industrial environment.
This role is responsible for troubleshooting, repairing, and maintaining production, packaging, and utility systems to ensure safe and efficient operations. The ideal candidate has strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills and is comfortable working independently while supporting continuous improvement efforts across the facility. Key Responsibilities Equipment Maintenance & Repair Perform planned, preventive, and emergency maintenance on production and packaging equipment. Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and control system issues. Troubleshoot motors, conveyors, process systems, and automated production equipment. Support installation and startup of new equipment and machinery. Preventive Maintenance Perform routine inspections and preventive maintenance activities to improve equipment reliability. Identify potential equipment failures and implement corrective actions before downtime occurs. Maintain accurate maintenance records and complete work orders in a timely manner. Technical Troubleshooting Read and interpret electrical schematics, technical manuals, and maintenance documentation. Use hand tools, power tools, electrical meters, and diagnostic equipment safely and effectively. Assist operators and production teams with troubleshooting and equipment support. Continuous Improvement & Safety Support continuous improvement initiatives focused on uptime, efficiency, and reliability. Follow all safety, GMP, food safety, and sanitation requirements. Maintain clean and organized work areas while supporting plant safety initiatives. Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent required. Trade school or technical training preferred (electrical, PLCs, welding, mechanical systems, etc.). 3+ years of industrial maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment preferred. Experience troubleshooting mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and PLC-controlled equipment. Familiarity with packaging and process equipment strongly preferred. Experience with ammonia refrigeration systems is a plus. Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills. Ability to work independently and within a team environment. Basic computer skills and ability to complete maintenance documentation. Work Environment Industrial manufacturing environment with exposure to noise, machinery, and varying temperatures. Frequent standing, lifting, bending, and physical activity throughout the shift. Required use of PPE and adherence to safety procedures.
