Job Description
Job Objective:
Must be able to independently complete successful diagnostic and repair of all systems (including electrical, hydraulic, and mechanical systems and components) typically found on various types of agricultural equipment. May also assemble and perform periodic maintenance on this type of equipment as required. The candidate for this role requires self-motivation, as most work is performed autonomously.Duties Include:
Inspect, diagnose, troubleshoot, and identify deficiencies on agricultural equipment as assigned. Proper use of diagnostic equipment and technical resources. Determine the extent of necessary repairs, including identifying major powertrain overhaul needs. Prepare orders for required services. Source and order parts as needed. Repair and/or replace all power train, hydraulic, air conditioning, electrical, suspension systems, steering, braking, material handling, and operator comfort systems. Read, analyze, and interpret technical information from schematics, technical manuals, drawings, and other web-based resources. Perform basic cutting/welding repairs as needed. Communicate to service manager on situations involving special parts orders, parts shortages, and other malfunctions impacting job completion. Complete all documentation, including repair estimates, entry of job comments for all work order types, and time sheets in a legible, accurate, and timely manner. Maintain a current knowledge of all company represented, as well as competitive, products and technology by participating in formal training opportunities and staying current by reading other related new product and technical publications. Work as part of a team, offering and seeking assistance when needed. Maintain cleanliness, neatness, and safety of personal workspace and service vehicle. Complete all work/repairs promptly according to the manager's standards. Maintain a safe working environment and adhere to the company safety program at all times. Complete work/repairs in various settings (farm, shop, road, etc.) without immediate oversight by the manager in an acceptable manner. Manage, track, and report all expenses associated with service vehicles and field-based repairs.REQUIREMENTS
Job Specifications:
Minimum of 3 years' experience in diagnosing/repairing agricultural or similar equipment. 1+ years of prior service experience preferred. Familiarity with operating all types of supported equipment. Advanced knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems. Must personally own hand tools of sufficient size and quantity to repair agricultural equipment. Ability to operate diagnostic equipment and interpret results. Must be computer proficient. Must have a valid driver's license and good driving record. Ability to prioritize, multitask, and work efficiently. Excellent communication and problem-solving skills. Passionate, dedicated, self-motivated individual. Works well in collaboration with others.Education/Experience:
An individual should be able to set work priorities and work independently in the absence of direct supervision and be able to understand and carryout oral and written directions. An individual must have the ability to maintain a high degree of motivation and maintain a focus on providing the highest level of customer service. The individual should have a steady and proven work record, be able to operate a variety of equipment, safely diagnose, adjust, and repair malfunctions, read and understand operator's and repair manuals, and be able to perform each of the essential position functions. Superior time management skills are a must. Individual will be personally accountable for managing their own schedule as well as personal inventory of time, parts, and equipment.Physical Requirements:
The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to perform the essential functions of this job successfully. The employee would normally lift or move 10 lbs., frequently lift or move up to 25 lbs., and occasionally lift or move up to 75 lbs. Ability to tolerate up and down movement with bending or stooping, including reaching above and below shoulder height with arms and hands. Ability to be on one's feet for extended periods of time. Ability to climb a ladder with the ability to carry an object while climbing. Ability to operate equipment or other power equipment as necessary. Ability to push/pull up to 100 lbs. of force. Must meet health assessment requirements.Work Environment:
