Our work is plant-focused, detail-oriented, and built around strong horticultural knowledge and careful field execution. We combine design intent with disciplined installation and ongoing garden stewardship. We are seeking a key team member to help bridge plant care, installation execution, crew leadership, and long-term garden maintenance. Position Overview This is a hands-on hybrid field and horticulture leadership role . The ideal candidate will support multiple areas of the business, including:
  • Plant care and nursery/display garden management
  • Growing and developing plant material to installation size when needed
  • Assisting crews with plant installation and field execution
  • Supporting and occasionally leading installation crews
  • Helping with plant placement on job sites under design direction
  • Developing and maintaining a structured garden care program This role requires significant prior field experience in landscaping, horticulture, or nursery work, as well as the ability to learn advanced practices directly from the owner over time.
This is not an entry-level position. The position is physical in nature, and candidates must be physically capable and able to work in all weather conditions Key Responsibilities
  • Plant Care, Nursery & Display Garden Management
  • Maintain nursery and/or display garden plant material in healthy condition
  • Water, prune, fertilize, and monitor plant health regularly
  • Oversee re-potting and up-potting of plant material as needed
  • Grow and develop plant material on to installation size when required
  • Manage spacing, staging, and organization of plant material for upcoming projects
  • Identify plant readiness for installation and communicate timing needs
  • Ensure all plant material is properly prepared and hardened off before installation
  • Upkeep, care, enhancement and irrigation of nursery display garden through owner guidance Installation Support & Plant Placement
  • Assist crews with plant installation and layout
  • Help with plant placement on job sites under direction of design intent
  • Interpret planting plans and translate them into accurate field execution
  • Ensure correct spacing, grouping, and aesthetic placement of plant material
  • Stage and organize plant material for job sites
  • Ensure proper handling and installation of plant material
  • Support quality control during installation work - adherence to highest level of horticultural standards Crew Leadership (As Needed)
  • Lead crews on selected installation projects when required
  • Ensure work is completed accurately according to plans and instructions
  • Maintain standards for planting quality, spacing, and site cleanliness
  • Coordinate daily workflow on assigned job sites
  • Communicate progress, issues, or concerns back to management Garden Care Program
  • Support and help develop a structured garden maintenance service
  • Perform and oversee proper horticultural maintenance practices including: o Weeding o Pruning o Mulching o Fertilization o Seasonal cutbacks o Plant health monitoring o Garden thinning, editing, and enhancement
  • Ensure maintenance work meets company horticultural and aesthetic standards Training & Development The selected candidate will receive hands-on training directly from the owner in:
  • Naturalistic planting design principles
  • Advanced plant selection and placement strategy
  • Maintenance standards specific to our design style
  • Installation methodology and sequencing
  • Nursery and plant development practices
  • Display garden management systems However, this role requires a strong existing foundation in field horticulture or landscaping at the time of hire . Required Experience
  • 3-5+ years of hands-on experience in landscaping, horticulture, nursery work, or garden installation
  • Strong familiarity with plant material and outdoor field work
  • Experience with plant installation and/or landscape maintenance
  • Ability to follow detailed instructions and execute accurately in the field
  • Ability to support or lead small crews when needed
  • Valid driver's license Ideal Candidate Traits We are looking for someone who is:

Pay:
$22.00 - $34.00 per hour
