Job Description

The QA and Food Safety Technician will report directly to the Food Safety Director and be considered a key figure in maintaining an established Safe Quality Food program. The individual will be responsible for documented verification of compliance in accordance to regulatory guidelines as well as company standards. The added team member will be relied on to monitor, communicate, and document employee G.M.P.'s, facility and site review, and perform documented verifications of procedures. Skills Work independently Trouble shooting Effective written and verbal communication Record keeping Ability to effectively manage time and schedule. Strong communication skills
Responsibilities:
Perform basic verification of time's, temperature's, and additional weights and measures. Verify and/or observe control point monitoring. Verify the calibration and accuracy of measuring devices. Assist with root cause analysis and corrective actions when requested. Communicate effectively with fellow team members the standards of Good Manufacturing Practices. Monitor and document the GMP practices Additional duties pertaining to food quality and safety may be assigned. Assist with overall "continuous improvement" methods and culture Physical Demands Ability to stand, bend, stoop, and lift at least 50 lbs. Standing majority of shift Ability to work in various temperature settings. Noise levels typical of a production environment. A plus Quality assurance experience Familiar with GMP guidelines in a food production facility Documented HACCP training Experience with inhouse measuring equipment (thermometers and scales) Required High School or GED Proficient in basic office data entry and document formatting
