Job Description

Maintenance Technician- 2nd and 3rd shift The Maintenance Technician monitors and maintains smooth plant operation, including production and packaging processes, support systems and facilities.
Job Duties:
Respond to production and facility needs (i.e. equipment breakdown, machine upgrades, and/or adjustments). Capable to troubleshoot and repair. Able to repair and troubleshoot all electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and power transmission components/equipment. Perform repairs on facility utility systems (i.e. hot water boilers, ammonia systems, electrical MCC) Perform preventative maintenance functions as scheduled. Capable of working independently on machine repairs Excellent communication skills with maintenance management and production management Work with CMMS system to record equipment parts usage/needs, PM completions, work orders and daily activities. Complete work orders as directed. Perform other tasks as directed.
Key Competencies:
5 years or less in a generalized maintenance role or 5+ years as an equipment operator in a more complex manufacturing environment with responsibilities around basic maintenance, changeovers, set-up, and preventative maintenance responsibilities demonstrated. Basic working knowledge of electrical principles and electrical safety practices. Understanding of LOTO procedures, and energy sources. Demonstrated ability to handle basic mechanical functions such as mechanical installation of parts and tooling. Strong knowledge of hand and power tools used in maintenance functions. Demonstrated ability to diagnose, repair, and maintain lower-level equipment such as conveyors, box tapers, label machines, or pallet wrappers. Ability to handle a variety of basic general maintenance functions related to building and facility applications. Repairs on doors, flooring, tiles, lighting, and lighting fixtures. Basic plumbing repairs, and running of cables, air lines, or hoses. Good communication skills and a solid ability to read, write, and follow written documents and instructions.
