Job Title :
Service Technician Primary Objective:
To recondition commercial kitchen equipment, achieving quality and productivity service targets.
Primary Functions:
This position is responsible for producing high quality products for the Burkett Used / Reconditioned product line, repair commercial kitchen equipment, clean equipment, and performing paint prep.

Service Manager Scheduled Hours:
40 hours per week / Mon-Fri / 8:00am-4:30pm
FLSA Status:
Hourly Key Areas of Responsibility Electrically, mechanically, and cosmetically diagnose and repair all commercial stainless/cooking/mechanical/refrigeration equipment according to production targets Movement of equipment per department and technician needs utilizing forklift and/or pallet jacks Research and request necessary parts according to manufacturer specs or basic mechanical guidelines Test all equipment in a timely, efficient manner and communicate any equipment that presents risk to internal or customer-facing quality targets Complete product diagnosis and disposition for damaged items in support of freight claims Check operations and visually inspect all used items in our Quality Control area daily Work with and as a backup to our equipment cleaner on an as-needed basis Disassemble equipment to ensure thorough cleaning of all components Reassemble equipment to be delivered into service, i.e. legs, casters, doors, etc. Power wash used equipment when needed during the reconditioning process Clean and maintain the cleaning room at the end of each day Complete any ongoing training to maintain OSHA compliance Other duties as assigned related to continuous improvement of service department processes Field service will be required occasionally. A majority of the work will be in-house but field work will be required occasionally based on company needs. Requirements Basic troubleshooting abilities Basic electrical and mechanical troubleshooting abilities Ability to communicate effectively and professionally Self-motivated with ability to work independently to achieve daily schedule Ability to learn, adapt, change, and remain flexible Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills Knowledge of basic material handling equipment and tools Ability to function as part of the team and assist other technicians when necessary Computer experience working with Microsoft Office products including Excel and Word Ability to lift up to 75 pounds occasionally EPA and refrigeration license is a plus Equipment Needed Basic hand and power tools Testing instruments (some items are company provided) Education and Experience High School Diploma or equivalent Valid Driver's license is required 10-Hour OSHA Training and HAZCOM Training. Training provided if not already acquired.
