Responsibilities Prioritizes food quality and safety through the vigilant application of company GMP's (Good Manufacturing Practices). Utilize all PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) necessary for the assigned job and to relay to supervision if equipment condition is less than 100% effective or if missing. Perpetuates a "Safety First " culture. Performs a variety of tasks and functions associated with food safety and quality monitoring, product and microbiological testing, instrument and equipment calibrations, operational and pre-operational inspections, training and enforcement of plant quality programs / policies, review of all quality and line documentation, communicates or interacts with regulatory bodies, conducts various plant audits, monitoring of ingredient and material usage. Conducts any non-routine projects, observations, testing or training as may be assigned by the Quality Assurance Manager. Accountable for accurate documentation, recordkeeping and maintenance of documents assigned to QA care. Required to have or obtain a working knowledge of HACCP (Hazard Analysis / Critical Control Point) and SQF systems. Function with minimal supervision or assistance. All other duties assigned. Qualifications Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed instructions furnished in written, oral or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations. Ability to communicate problems or issues to quality or plant leadership to address concerns of waste, quality or employee safety. Understands the basics of Lean Manufacturing; "GEAR" in order to contribute to the organization's continuous improvement efforts. Prior food manufacturing and quality assurance experience preferred but not required. High School diploma or GED preferred Basic math skills with ability to read and write Working experience with computers (Microsoft Word, Excel, various software programs) preferred
