Job Description
Minnesota DHIA, a leader in dairy information services, is looking for a part-time Field Technician based in Milbank, SD or surrounding areas. The position has potential to expand into full-time. The area of work will include farms mostly in Grant county, SD, and Lac qui Parle county, MN. The primary responsibility is to supervise and carry out milk sampling and data collection during milking at dairy farms in order to provide farmers with high-quality management information. This would be a great position for someone involved in farming where you can make a difference in the success of local family-owned dairy farms. Hours are during milking times, including some early mornings (possibly as early as 3 AM) and a few evenings with flexible scheduling agreed upon between you and your farmer members. As the service volume expands to full-time, a few days per month of regional travel to team-tested herds in Eastern SD or Western MN may be expected. Great people to work with and an enjoyable job. Dairy or Ag background is desirable. Equipment and initial in-person and ongoing remote training and support are provided.
