Food Preparation Technician

Overview We are seeking a reliable and motivated Sushi Assistant to support our sushi chefs in the preparation of high-quality sushi dishes in a fast-paced Asian fusion restaurant. The ideal candidate has a strong work ethic, a passion for food, and a willingness to learn the art of sushi preparation. Duties Assist sushi chefs in preparing ingredients (e.g., slicing fish, cutting vegetables, cooking rice). Maintain cleanliness and organization of the sushi prep area. Refill ingredients and supplies as needed during service. Ensure proper storage, labeling, and rotation of ingredients (FIFO method). Follow all food safety and sanitation standards. Help assemble basic sushi rolls under supervision. Assist with closing duties, including cleaning and restocking stations. Experience Prior kitchen or food prep experience preferred but not required. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and follow instructions. Basic knife skills a plus. Punctual, team-oriented, and detail-focused. Must be able to stand for long periods and lift up to 30 lbs.
