Location:
Houston, TX (field-based — travel to client sites required) About The Plant Project The Plant Project is the first Black woman-owned plant shop in Texas, born in the heart of Uptown — on the ground of what was once Freedman's Town, the first settlement of formerly enslaved people in the area. It began as an answer to the lack of color in the Dallas plant world and has grown into something more: a place where all can grow together. Today we're proud to call two cities home, with a second shop in Houston, where this role is based. We're more than a plant shop. Beyond our indoor house plants and curated vintage finds, we believe in creating commUNITY — there's a reason the "unity" lives inside the word. We host events that bring people together and tend a space that feels welcoming, rooted, and alive. While our Dallas shop remains a plant boutique, our Houston shop leans more toward home and garden. Through Greenterior, our interior plantscaping service, we bring that same care into our clients' spaces — designing and maintaining lush, healthy interior plant installations across Houston. We're looking for an experienced plant tech to keep those spaces thriving. What you'll do Service a route of client sites, keeping interior plants healthy and beautiful Water, prune, fertilize, clean, and groom plants to keep them looking their best Diagnose plant-health issues, treat pests and disease, and rotate or replace plants as needed Lift and move heavy pots and plants as part of regular service and installs Represent The Plant Project professionally and warmly in every client space Submit accurate, succinct service notes after each visit and flag client needs Communicate with the team and leadership through Basecamp — our central hub for all communication. You'll work closely with the founder, so keeping everything in Basecamp is essential. What we're looking for Plant maintenance, horticulture, or interior plantscaping experience (required) Strong knowledge of indoor plant care, pests, and troubleshooting A self-starter who works independently and takes ownership of their route Detail-oriented, reliable, and professional in client-facing settings A reliable personal vehicle, valid driver's license, and insurance (you'll drive to client sites) Able to lift and carry plants, containers, and watering equipment comfortably Part-time availability Based in the Houston area Nice to have Prior experience servicing commercial or residential plant accounts How to apply Send your resume to — we'd love to hear from you!
