Job Description

Maintenance Technician Peoplelink Staffing, in partnership with a prominent dog and cat food manufacturer in the Janesville, WI area, is seeking production Maintenance Technicians to join their team! 1 st
Shift:
5:00am to 3:00pm (OT is required, schedule may vary) 2 nd
Shift:
1:00pm to 11:00pm (OT is required, schedule may vary) 3 rd
Shift:
9:00pm- 5:30am (Possible OT as required, some weekends)
Weekend Shift:
Wednesday to Sunday, 5:00am - 3:00pm (Hours may vary; candidates must be flexible to work this shift)
Pay Rate:
$30.00/hour or more (Depending on experience)
Summary:
The Maintenance Technician is responsible for maintaining and repairing production machines and facility equipment. They ensure operations run smoothly and safely by performing a variety of skilled mechanical, electrical, and plumbing tasks.
Essential Functions:
Install, troubleshooting, and repair production machines and facility equipment. Conduct emergency and scheduled maintenance on production equipment to minimize downtime. Perform mechanical duties including machining, welding, and using hand/power tools. Read and interpret equipment manuals and work orders for maintenance tasks. Diagnose issues, replace parts, and make adjustments to ensure equipment efficiency. Perform preventive maintenance on machines and plant facilities. Maintain plumbing and carpentry systems as needed. Comply with safety regulations and maintain clean work areas. Coordinate with external technicians for complex repairs. Document maintenance activities and communicate with supervisors on equipment status.

Technical proficiency in mechanical, electrical, and industrial systems. Ethical conduct and adherence to safety protocols. Strong communication skills. Results-driven with a proactive approach to maintenance problem-solving. Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
Work Environment:
The role involves exposure to fumes, moving parts, and noise, requiring physical activity such as standing, bending, and lifting heavy objects.
Physical Demands:
Requires frequent physical exertion including lifting items over 75 pounds and performing various manual tasks. Vision abilities and depth perception are crucial for equipment maintenance.
Required Education and Experience:
High school diploma/GED with completion of a craft apprenticeship or equivalent experience. Minimum of 4 years in manufacturing maintenance, with proficiency in hydraulic, pneumatic, and mechanical systems. Experience with PLCs and HVAC preferred.
Read, Write, and Speak English Preferred Education and Experience:
Associate degree in mechanical, electrical, or industrial maintenance. Experience with vacuum furnaces or boilers is advantageous.
